So there's now only one episode left from the ongoing season of demon slayer anime episode 11 of the entertainment district arc is releasing next Sunday on the 13th of February and it is going to be the final episode for season 2.
A lot of people were asking about the next season Will it Happen or not? if yes then when will we get the third season a few days ago we already talked about the source material for this anime which is a manga written by Koyoharu Gotouge the manga for the demon slayer series has already ended having 23 volumes in total and these 23 volumes consist of 205 chapters the final episode of season 2 is most likely going to end somewhere in volume 12. So there will still be more than 100 chapters worth of source material available after the adaptation of season two, so there's plenty of source material available for not only season three but also for season four while talking about the next season of the anime we also have to take it into consideration whether they will go for another movie or not we have already seen how successful the demon slayer infinity train movie has been for this franchise so there's a high possibility that they will probably go for a new movie.
For those people who don't know demon slayer infinity train is not the first movie that we got from this franchise it was actually the second movie of this series the first movie for demon slayer was released back in march of 2019 even before the release of season one so it seems like what they are planning here is they will try to produce a new movie before each season and then they will re-adapt the movie into the first part of the next season as they are readapting the same chapters from the manga into the next season of the anime they don't really have to worry about running out of source material for a new season but again as of now nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
So we don't really exactly know what's going to happen next to the main thing that it has been officially confirmed that the production committee for demon slayer has extended the time slot for the final episode of the entertainment district arc usually they get 30 minutes tv slot for each episode but next week they will have additional 15 minutes so the final episode time slot will be extended to 45 minutes now it does not exactly mean that the final episode is going to be 45 minutes long because the time slot includes the commercial breaks too it is also possible that the main reason behind extending the time slot could be that they want to use this extra time to make a big announcement for either a new season or a new movie or anything else they are planning on doing after the end of season two.
In case you don't remember the announcement for the demon slayer infinity train movie was made just after the premiere of the final episode of season one so I am hoping that we will probably be getting some kind of big announcement next Sunday on the 13th of February.
